Diabetes (Diabetes mellitus) is a functional disorder of Langerhans islets, which are located in the pancreas. If the gland does not produce in sufficient quantities hormone insulin, there is an abnormal increase in blood glucose levels, which can lead in extreme cases up to coma or death. The first signs of developing diabetes are excessive thirst, lack of appetite and increased urination.

There are two types of diabetes: Type I occurs in young patients (children, youth and young adults), type II is typical for people over forty years. The first type is needed constant medical supervision, careful adherence to diet and injecting well-defined doses of insulin. Determination of glucose in the blood

Elevated blood glucose is demonstrable urine analysis at an early stage of the disease. The pharmacy is available test strips which you can define the level of glucose:

• Contain a small amount of morning urine (in the middle of urinating).
• Immerse yourself into it about 1 second test strip.
